to the Darwin Game Fishing Club...

Established in the late 1970’s the Darwin Game Fishing Club is a community based amateur fishing club accommodating all levels of anglers from complete novices through to the highly competitive. Meetings are held on the first Tuesday of every month with informative and hands on theme nights, pointscore updates for our club competitions, a free Bar-B-Que and bar facilities. The main focus of our gatherings is to interact with a friendly, exciting group of anglers who are interested in fishing and happy to pass on their extensive fishing knowledge on local rivers, harbours and blue water destinations.

We hold annual two competitions, the first targeting most tropical species including barramundi, mackerel, trevally, salmon, queenfish etc on recognized line class. All points contribute to the end of competition year tally and the Club Championship. Our secound annual club competition is our “Champion Barramundi Angler” where barramundi are scored on a length basis, your largest barramundi per month aggregates to a grand total for twelve months. Our flagship tournament is the “NT Barramundi Classic” held on the Daly River and with the coming of this years event (2007) celebrates its 26th Anniversary. To have coordinated a tournament of this magnitude for 26 consecutive years is a milestone for us and something Darwin Game Fishing Club is enormously proud of.
